Yukigassen Norway

Yukigassen is a snowball war competition of the Japanese sport Showa-Shinzan. Yukigassen Norway is a member of the International Alliance of sports Yukigassen – IAY through the organization’s European branch. Yukigassen is held annually in Vardø in March.

Yukigassen Norway can arrange competitions in other relevant places in Norway within Yukigassen Norway’s area of operation and business, assist other relevant organizers who, by agreement and permission from Yukigassen Norway, want to arrange competitions with Showa-Shinzan International Yukigassen. Yukigassen Norway will promote the spread of the sport through the licensing of brand names, the sale of articles, equipment and the rental of equipment and knowledge.

The Event Committee

The events committee is responsible for organizing the Yukigassen in Vardø annually in March. The events committee has overall coordination responsibility for arranging the snowball war competition, which is held with historical frameworks at Vardøhus fortress.
